I've never been interested in reading blogs and I certainly never thought I would be writing one. In fact, the only blogs I've read myself are food blogs, and that was only because I was trying to find a recipe for honey-lavender macaroons. So why am I writing this blog? Why are you reading it?
If I had spent some time reading a few travel blogs before I jumped head-long into my travel experience I might have saved myself from a few unpleasant experiences (for example, did you know toilet paper is scarcely used in Thailand? I didn't!). The purpose of this blog is in part to share some new-found knowledge with any other travelers to help them avoid some of the mistakes I made. The most important reason is to share information with fellow students on how to access financial resources so that they can have the opportunity to participate in an education abroad experience.
I hope you find some part of this blog helpful, or at least entertaining. Most of all, if you are a student I hope this blog is an encouragement to pursue abroad programs even if you think it might be financially impossible. There are so many benefits to studying abroad that should be accessible to all, and you have more resources than you think. Bear with me through this blog experiment and find out what some of those resources are.
